Hello, my name is Doug Moore.

I’m just getting my website set up, so I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m a postdoctoral researcher at Arizona State University. I work on a variety of research projects spanning mathematics, physics and biology. My primary research at the moment focuses on how biological systems store information, morphological information in particular. I’ll probably create a post in the next couple of weeks describing this work in detail, but suffice it to say that there are some really strange organisms out there that have crazy regenerative abilities. We don’t really know how they do it; my work tries to tease that out.

Outside of work, I try to keep myself occupied reading, spending time with my wife, Lindsey, and trying to learn as much as I can about as much as I can — I’m trying to learn to play the banjo at the moment.

I’ll be doing my best to keep you apprised of my goings-on in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
